Our Allergen Promise

Baked with care — and caution.

At Hearth, inclusivity is baked in, not bolted on. For us that means real care around allergens — not a disclaimer buried in fine print, but a set of habits we follow in every batch. Here’s exactly how we keep the people you’re baking for safe.

01  Always Peanut- & Tree-Nut-Free

This one never changes. We run a 100% peanut-free and tree-nut-free kitchen — no peanut butter, nut flours, nut meals, or nut oils ever come through our door, for business or personal use. The single exception is coconut, which the FDA classifies as a tree nut. It appears in a few of our ingredients, and whenever it does, we disclose it clearly on the label.

02  What Our Kitchen Handles

For our standard recipes, gluten, dairy, and eggs are present in the kitchen, and soy is sometimes present. That’s exactly why we make free-from options — and give them the same creativity and care as everything else:

03  How We Prevent Cross-Contact

A free-from label only means something if the process behind it is real. Ours is:

We screen every ingredient

We read the full label on every ingredient and every re-order — because recipes change without notice — and reject anything carrying a peanut or tree-nut warning.

We store to keep things apart

Gluten-free and specialty ingredients are sealed, labeled, and shelved above standard flour — never below — so nothing drifts down onto them.

We bake in the right order

On any shared day, free-from batches are baked first, before standard ones — fewest allergens to most — so the cleanest bakes happen in the cleanest kitchen.

We deep clean between batches

Between a standard batch and any free-from batch, every shared tool and surface is fully washed, and sheet pans are lined with fresh parchment. A quick wipe is never enough.

04  Honest About Our Limits

We’d rather tell you the truth than promise more than we can keep. Hearth is a home kitchen, not a dedicated allergen-free facility. Our free-from options are made with genuine cross-contact prevention — but the same space also handles gluten, dairy, eggs, and soy. If you or someone you’re baking for has a severe or anaphylactic allergy, please reach out before ordering so we can talk it through honestly and help you decide what’s right.

05  Every Label Tells the Truth

Every order leaves our kitchen with its allergens disclosed on the label, so you always know exactly what you’re holding. At checkout, we also ask you to acknowledge that these are home-kitchen baked goods made in a shared-allergen facility — not to cover ourselves, but because informed is the only way we want you to order.

Have a question about a specific allergy? Ask us before you order — we’d genuinely rather hear from you first.
